ISTwente in development

International School Twente

An ambitious school

International School Twente (ISTwente) aims to become a leading international school that attracts families from the international community who are temporarily living and working in Twente, the Achterhoek and the neighbouring region of Germany. One of the reasons for settling in this region is the presence of ISTwente – an appealing school that provides students with excellent preparation for their continued education in The Netherlands or elsewhere. The school will greatly contribute towards a favourable international business climate in the region.

The number of students at ISTwente is predicted to grow in the coming 4 years to at least 300. Based on cooperation between the boards of governors of the Consent group of schools and Het Stedelijk Lyceum and the stakeholders, ISTwente will become one recognisable and cohesive facility for international education with a continuous learning line for students from 4 to 18 years old. ISTwente is determined to offer its students an inspiring learning environment with a focus on inquiry-based learning and 21st century skills.

Targets for the development of the school have been identified and implementation is well under way. In 2016, the Primary school received full accreditation for the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). The Secondary school is in the accreditation process for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
