Mathematics Olympiad

Recently several of our students took part in the first round of the Dutch National Mathematics Olympiad. This annual competition, which is a preliminary to the International Mathematics Olympiad, presents secondary school students with interesting maths puzzles that usually require some out-of-the-box thinking to solve.

As is our custom at ISTwente, our students worked on their problem sets while enjoying a cup of tea and a piece of pie. We are all rooting for our students, and hope that some will make it through to the regional second round which will be held at the University of Twente in March.
