Performance ISTwente at the Muziekcentrum Enschede
On 15 June 2017, primary students from IST C and IST D will be partaking in a sing-along concert at the Muziekcentrum of Enschede, as part of Arts and Culture. The concert, Broer, is about the twin brothers, Ketim and Raban, who as children were very close, but somehow drifted apart. To mend the relationship, Ketim is throwing Raban a surprise party, and the childern and orchestra are ready to get things started. The story will be accompanied by the music of Giuseppe Verdi, however, everything that is usually uncommon at a classical concert, is now allowed: clapping, dancing, making a wave and talking choirs!
The concert Broer is a production developed by Theater Sonnevanck, and Orkest van het Oosten, on behalf of Vluchtelingenwerk Nederland as part of their project Eigen-Wijs. This project aims to help children and young people in Dutch central shelters to temporarily forget the problems of their uncertain lives, amongst others by organising music activities. The concerts will be performed for and by 4,000 refugee children and students from Dutch primary schools.
Free entrance for parents and grandparents
The primary students from ISTwente have been practising hard with their music teacher Ms. Milou for several months, and you can come and watch them perform on 15 June at 12:45. The concert will take place at the Muziekcentrum Enschede, and the students will be wearing their ISTwente T-shirts (Explore the World).
