Saying goodbye to Mrs. Weir

Saying goodbye to Mrs. Weir

In the week before the Spring Break, ISTwente said goodbye to Secondary team leader Mrs. Els Weir who, after many years of service at Dutch partner school Het Stedelijk Lyceum and ISTwente, will be enjoying her early retirement. On Monday 19th February music teacher Ms. Muiser and her students in years 7, 8 and 9 surprised Mrs. Weir with a lovely song they had composed for her and each handed her a rose afterwards.

On Thursday 22nd February a lovely goodbye reception was held for Mrs. Weir at ISTwente Secondary which was attended by many colleagues, parents, students and friends. Amongst the wonderful gifts were two photo albums filled with memorable moments at ISTwente as well as personal messages from current and graduated students. Mrs. Weir also received a wooden couch, which was signed by all who attended the reception, and a sign with her name on it has been added to the ISTwente department.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank Mrs. Weir again for all that she has done for ISTwente. We hope she will enjoy every minute of her retirement and, to put it in the student's words: we hope you won't forget us!
