Raising money for NPH USA
On Tuesday 19th December 2017, ISTwente secondary hosted the very first Snowflake Festival; a Winter Charity Drive in order to raise money for the NPH USA. Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos (NPH) USA is a corporation that raises money for abandoned and disadvantaged boys and girls in Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Peru. Their main goal is to provide these children with a loving family, education and a bright future that they all rightfully deserve.
The Snowflake festival was organised by four of our IB DP year 1 students as a CAS activity (Creativity, Activity and Service), which is one of the three core subjects within the IB DP curriculum. The event took place within our secondary department, where various stalls had been set up selling food and drinks, as well as crafts, such as nail art. Our guests - parents, students and teachers - could also purchase a ticket for the main event which took place at the end of the afternoon: the ISTwente Fashion Show! Various students - and teachers - took to the catwalk, showing off several creations from their wardrobe.
