Inquiry-based learning is the cornerstone of learning and teaching at ISTwente. In this context, Year 3/4 students are involved in an IPC project: the life-cycle of plants and animals. They are keeping a diary to record progress.
Life cycle of plants
The students are learning how plants develop. They planted a variety of seeds in transparent plastic bags and observe the germination and the growth of the roots, stalk and leaves.
Life cycle of animals
An incubator was installed and the students placed 6 fertilized chicken eggs in it. Temperatures and moisture levels are being checked daily and preparations are being made to ‘receive’ the chicks after 21 days of incubation (7 December).
