On Tuesday, 7 December the school received ‘The Tree Of Life’ from Liezette Gerrits en Mark van Loon, the two artists who jointly made it.
The idea of the tree originated from teachers who wanted a tree painted on one of the windows as part of a display.
While brainstorming, a plan evolved to create a large wooden tree and to give this an important place in the school as a source of inspiration.
After the Christmas holiday, the tree will be officially ‘opened’ for use by the two youngest groups of ISTwente, the Teddybears and the Bees.
They will be using the stumps under the tree as reading seats. the tree itself will be used for the students to display their work beautifully as ‘Evidence of Learning’.
