Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution at the Primary school
The Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution is a movement that encourages schools, homes and businesses to promote change in people's food habits by providing food education for everyone. From May 2014, International School Twente (ISTwente) students have been taking part in the Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution led by Corinne Boswinkel, who is the Food Revolution's Ambassador for Enschede. Cooking lessons are organised as an after-school activity. When possible, we plant our own vegetables for fresh produce.
Through cooking lessons, students learn to prepare tasty and healthy food, to make good food choices and to follow recipes.
Everyone can cook!
Extra-Curricular Activities at the Secondary school
The extra activities are almost as important as school work. They ensure that everyone gets to know each other and their talents in different ways. For instance, teachers collaborate with students in organising sports competition and Mathematics challenges with other schools, but also organise a cooking club, music club, arts workshops and interesting excursions in the region, to get to know Twente and Enschede better. Over the last few years ISTwente Secondary students were also part of the organising committee of the Christmas ball and the winter festival in the Dutch parent school.
